Accessible AcroYoga

Take a journey through a yogic experience exploring a physical practice that blends elements of yoga, acro-balance, & Thai massage. These three ancient lineages form the foundation of a practice that cultivates trust, connection, and playfulness between friends, family, or partners. Understand the benefits of a contact practice to inspire laughter and a light heart while building strength of body & flexibility of mind. This cooperative interaction is available for all levels, from beginner to advanced.

Anusara-Inspired (Hatha)

A powerful yoga system that unifies the philosophy of intrinsic goodness with detailed alignment principles. Explore the concepts of muscle energy, loops and spirals, and body and alignment kinetics. A practice of the heart, Anusara classes flow with the grace of the divine.

May include back bends and/or inversions.

Sue, Emily and Lila are trained in Anusara Yoga.

Full Bodied Yoga (Pre-registered)

With a focus on people working in bigger bodies, this class offers students of all shapes and sizes a space to explore the yoga practice in a way that will work best for your individual body. Working with our breath, as well as trusting our body to tell us what it needs, this class will invite you to play and explore with a combination of standing and seated poses designed to both strengthen and stretch the body. As we breathe, sweat and mediate, this class will develop your practice as well as strengthen your connection to your big beautiful bod.

Hatha

A traditional form of yoga practice emphasizing body awareness, balance and breathing. Ha (Sun) and tha (Moon) is the foundation for all forms of yoga practiced today, and has thousands of different postures.

All levels welcome!

Kundalini

Kundalini yoga is the Yoga of Awareness as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Using sacred mantras, pranayama (breath work), and moving asanas (postures) kundalini yoga is a fast way to transform and evolve your inner connection to self, become stable, consolidated and at peace. Kriya sets and active breath work concentrate on the chakras in the body to awaken the potential energy at the base of your spine (described as a coiled serpent or the Kundalini energy). This powerful yoga form brings balance, clarity and awareness to each level of the body.

Meditation

This silent meditation practice is informally held by a member of the Do-it-Yourself Dharma collective and invites members to sit together in two 20 minute and one 10 minute session with optional walking meditation in between.

Myo-fascial Release

Blending myo-fascial releases with Yoga postures this class will enhance your range of movement, tissue health and your overall vitality. Fascial Fitness is the missing link in exercise and health training. Usually we focus on muscular and cardiovascular training, along with neuromuscular coordination. However, most injuries that occur are fascial: ligaments, tendons, joint capsules…Hence the importance of training the fascial network.

Prenatal

Practice prenatal yoga strongly and safely. Through asana, breath work, visualization, mindfulness, & mantra you will develop many different tools for child birth. You’ll learn how to modify postures to accommodate your changing needs and the unique environment will provide a space for questions & discussion. Come to connect with yourself and your baby, and leave feeling energized, replenished, and centred.

Qi Gong

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese art that has been shown to have many health benefits. Practitioners use meditation, movement and breathing techniques to circulate and enhance their ‘chi’ or vital energy. Qi Gong has been practiced for thousands of years as a healing modality to help cure disease, reduce pain and relieve stress and tension.

Queer Yoga

A safe space for any level, body shape, personal identity or state of mind. leave your stress at the door, be ready to breathe mindfully together and release the pressures and judgements of the world. transgendered, queermos, chubby folks, body hair, tattoos, all genders and allies welcome!

All Classes

Restorative

This soothing and relaxing class holds an emphasis in supporting the body to soften and let go. A great way to tap into the subtle body, this This soothing class will release tension in the the body, allowing you to completely let go and relax. We will use props such as blocks, bolsters, blankets, dowels and straps to soften the fascia, and then sink deeply into supported postures to increase range of motion and soothe the nervous system. This is a meditative, slow practice designed to encourage deep, restorative rest. Bring your own eye pillow if you like!

Sunrise Hatha

Awaken the body, mind and spirit with this gentle but active one-hour Hatha class. This class will feature grounding visualization, Pranayama, core strengthening and a simple flowing Hatha sequence that you can easily incorporate into your home practice.

Thai Yoga Massage

Join us for the Thai Yoga Massage clinic on Friday afternoons. Thai massage is traditionally practiced in a shared space with other practitioners.

Vinyasa

An active practice incorporating sun salutations and ujjayi (victorious) breathing, linking continuous movement with breath. Evolving from the Ashtanga Vinyasa system of Pattabhi Jois, this class is a fusion between flowing with breath and gentle holds (sometimes referred to as 'Power' yoga).

May include back bends and/or inversions.

Yin

A deep meditation practice with postures that are held 5-10 minutes, working into the connective tissues (yin) as opposed to muscle tissues (yang). This practice complements an active practice, and is based on meridian theory. Clear and open the joints and connective tissues, release fascia, and attune to the senses and subtle body. This practice will deepen your awareness of your body mind consciousness.

Yoga for 50-Plus

A gentle practice aimed at improving joint mobility, muscle flexibility and balance while encouraging deep breathing and relaxation. This Hatha based practice focuses on mindfulness and movements that are accessible and therapeutic.
